Rancho Cucamonga, CA - On Saturday, May 17, the Cucamonga Valley Water District (CVWD/District) welcomed more than 750 community members to its annual Open House and Water Fair Celebration. Guests enjoyed a behind-the-scenes experience and had the opportunity to connect with over 60 CVWD employees who shared their passion for providing essential water and wastewater services. The event featured engaging department demonstrations, vehicle displays, a landscape workshop, and participation from over 15 community partners who served as vendors, offering valuable resources and information.
Attendees of all ages participated in a variety of water-related learning activities, including hands-on exhibits, conservation education, and interactive displays designed to promote awareness of CVWD’s water supply, treatment, and sustainability efforts.
Fan-favorite attractions made a return this year, including complimentary document shredding, free Chick-fil-A, and a kids’ slide. A new highlight for younger attendees was the introduction of a kids’ dig pile—an interactive, hands-on activity that quickly became a crowd favorite.
“This year’s Open House and Water Fair was a great success and allowed us to connect directly with our community,” said Board President Randall Reed. “As we celebrate 70 years of service throughout 2025, we’re proud to highlight the dedicated work of our employees and the strong partnerships we’ve built with our customers and community.”
Guests of all ages enjoyed the experience, with one attendee sharing, “What a great event! We enjoyed the free Chick-fil-A breakfast, beautiful face painting, and the inflatable slide. The educational water booths were interactive and engaging, and we truly enjoyed the experience.”
