The Cucamonga Valley Water District has been approved by the County Board of Supervisors to change its election cycle to coincide with odd-numbered years. Therefore, the election for the Board of Directors will take place in November 2017.
• The change was made due to an extremely content-dense ballot that has been growing on the even-year election cycle.
• Moving to an odd-year election cycle ensures greater transparency for smaller public agencies that may be overshadowed by large high-profile elections.
• The process for approval required the Cucamonga Valley Water District to submit a request to the County Registrar of Voters for consideration of moving the election cycle. The County Board of Supervisors than reviewed and gave the final approval which was effective February 2016.
• Resolution 2015-10-5 initiating the change to the election cycle process was adopted by the Cucamonga Valley Water District Board of Directors on October 27, 2015
